Zeal (zeel)
Energetic and unflagging enthusiasm, especially for a cause and idea.
This is the word I use to describe the feeling I have when I paint. To me, art is about emotions and discovery; it is also about growth and experimentation. What I love most about painting is being able to express myself through the use of non-objective images. Most of these images emerge with no prior idea; others are inspired by a specific mood and/or design in mind, but nevertheless evolve into colorful compositions.
My love for art goes back to childhood where I had many creative adventures. My father was an artist so I inherited his passion. I began painting in 2005, that year I entered a Juried Art Contest at LPCA (Lake Placid Center for the Arts, NY) and won an Honorary Mention for one of my oil paintings.
My artistic goals are to share my enthusiasm for art, to evoke strong feelings with my paintings, to grow and experiment, and to love what I do.
